Upcoming!!!!

#1. First Friday Fun Night! I am planning an exciting scavenger hunt. 6:30-10pm. We will meet at the office, go hunting, and then return to eat and hang out! I WILL NEED TWO ADULTS willing to drive our youth for the scavenger hunt – please let me know if you can be one them!!! Based on past numbers we should have three teams to compete! Also, as usual bring a snack and drink to share!

#2. Sunday, the 6th – youth at regular time, but the Kids’ Club is not meeting so I will need someone to provide dinner. Let me know ASAP if you can help with this!

#3. Doughnut Devotionals next Wednesday. Same time and place. Remember to send a couple of dollars to offset the cost, if you can.

#4. Sunday, the 13th. Christmas party!!!! 4:30-7:30pm at my house, 159 Fox Hollow Circle 29170. Some of you may want to meet at the office and carpool. Please bring an exchange gift, but just something you either have around the house to regift or something you can make (it can be silly).

CAROWINDS!!!!

This Saturday we are going to Carowinds!!!

We will leave the church parking lot at 8:30am!!!

THIS SUNDAY is our parent meeting!  We will be meeting right after church at the Grunsky’s lake house until around 2:30pm.  Lunch will be provided. Youth will be able to socialize while the adults meet.  The address is 126 Pleasure Island Road, Gilbert, SC.

Directions:
1. Head west on Augusta Hwy/US-1, 2. Turn right at Spool Wheel Rd, 3. Turn left at SC-378/US-378, 4. Turn right at Shore Rd, 5. Turn left at Misty Ln (the sign is down, but it is the road just past the cemetery), 6. Turn right at Pleasure Island Rd, Destination will be on the left.

Mission Trip

Tori, Tye, Josh, Elizabeth, Shelby, Jeff, Claire, Lexi, Brianna, Liz, and Michael at the YouthWorks Mission Trip in Savannah, GA in July.

This was the first mission trip most of them have been on, definitely the first they have been on as a group, and my first time leading one.  It was great!  They all worked very hard and learned so much.  I have come to believe that even if you are not sure if they are “getting it,” if they cry on the last night, then it made an impact!  And considering almost all of them came home with swine flu (the ones who didn’t had a virus), they certainly were troopers!

Cherokee Presbyterian Church’s youth group will be kicking off their year with a youth/parent cookout on August 30th at the Grunsky’s lake house at 11:30am.

Our first major event will be a trip to Carowinds on September 5th.  Plan to be gone all day and have a blast!
